The total population of Ireland on 1 January 2016 stood at 4,658,500. Its population grew by 29,600 in 2015, largely due to an excess of births over deaths.
As of 1 January 2016, the core Jewish population of Ireland was estimated to be 1,600 (0.03% of the wider population), and the enlarged Jewish population was estimated at 2,400 (0.05% of the wider population).
