JPR's Executive Director, Dr Jonathan Boyd, was in Brussels this week to meet with the newly-appointed European Commission coordinators to combat antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred.
The coordinators, appointed by First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Justice Commissioner Věra Jourová, have been given a mandate to bring the specific concerns of the respective communities to the attention of European Commission leaders. In order to do so, it is imperative that they have access to credible social research, and JPR's work will play an essential role in providing that.
JPR's recent research in this area - particularly the survey it conducted for the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights - is widely regarded in European parliamentary circles as a key resource, and we will be working hard to ensure that European Union and Commission officials have access to the data they need to make informed policy on combating antisemitism going forward.
