  • The total population of Norway on 1 January 2016 stood at 5,214,000. Its population grew by 47,500 in 2015, of which 29,200 was due to inward migration.
  • As of 1 January 2016, the core Jewish population of Norway was estimated to be 1,300 (0.02% of the wider population), and the enlarged Jewish population was estimated at 2000 (0.04% of the wider population).
  • An estimated 2,500 Norwegians qualify for Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return.
  • The Jewish community is concentrated in Oslo, with a small community in Trondheim .
