Since 1989 a new Europe has emerged. The fall of the Berlin Wall has not merely resulted in the redrawing of geographical boundaries but in new intellectual freedom and democratic pluralism. This sea change presents many challenges, but none greater than to Europe's Jews, whose communities were decimated by the Holocaust. Conditions are now in place for a possible Jewish renaissance.
